Weekly News (June 7 – June 13)

  • New immigrants can be provided living allowances of up to 3 months

New immigrant families can be provided living allowances during the epidemic. The National Immigration Agency's New Immigrants Development Foundation launched the "New Immigrants Development Fund". Local governments will assist in the application process, and each person will receive a maximum of 3 months living allowance in the current year.   • Screening stations are set up in Hsinchu City for epidemic prevention among migrant workers

Hsinchu City mayor announced that epidemic prevention measures will be improved among migrant workers in factories.   • Foreign spouses can now apply for the "Assured Immediate Employment Program"

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic in Taiwan, many people are having trouble finding jobs. The Ministry of Labor's (MOL) “Assured Immediate Employment Program” has eased the qualifications for application. All nationals over 15 years of age and foreign spouses are eligible for application. The maximum number of hours is also increased to 960 hours.
