Through the Action Caring Train (到府關懷、宅配愛行動關懷列車), National Immigration Agency provides care for the new immigrants. Recently, the new immigrants of Nantou were visited by the Director-General (鐘景琨) of NIA, Counselor (楚恆惠) of the Mainland Affairs Council, and Director (林琦瑜) of Department of Civil Affairs of Nantou County Government.

The Action Caring Train’ s first stop was at "The Pot&pan Bakery And Dining (衛蕾原味攻坊)," which is co-owned by new immigrant David Wood (伍言中) and his wife. The restaurant's specialties include oven-baked pizza and pasta, and it is well-known in Zhongxing New Village. In addition to running a restaurant, David Wood from Canada is a poet and the founder of a magazine. He and his wife started the Local Word Nantou regional revitalization magazine to promote the Nantou culture. Following its release, the magazine drew a large number of neighborhood youths and companies to work on its creation.

Lavender, rosemary, mint, and other garden-grown herbs were introduced by Ye, Ting-ting (葉婷婷), the new immigrant from Hong Kong in a professional manner.Photo provided by NIA Pingtung County Service Center

Ye, Ting-ting(葉婷婷), the new immigrant from Hong Kong and her husband-run "29 Garden" (29號花園) received yet another visit. Lavender, rosemary, mint, and other garden-grown herbs were introduced by Ye, Ting-ting in a professional manner. Ye, Ting-ting began her career in Hong Kong as a social worker. She carried on helping individuals in need after moving to Taiwan. She not only made investments in local businesses, but also taught local farmers and underprivileged women business skills to enable them to become self-sufficient. Ye advances her professional skills at the same time by earning international certifications like those for aromatherapy and ACP horticulture therapist.

The two new immigrants who were visited by the Action Caring Train this time, according to the Director-General (鐘景琨) of NIA, continued to improve after adapting to life in Taiwan and used what they have learned to the growth of regional revitalization or culture to energize the neighborhood, which inspiring. NIA will keep fostering a welcoming atmosphere for new immigrants.
