The National Immigration Agency’s "Dream-Building Project for New Residents and Their Children" has entered its 10th year. Since its inception, this project has been dedicated to helping new residents and their children realize their dreams. Participants have shown incredible passion and resilience on their journey, with their achievements inspiring countless others. This year, we will introduce the outstanding awardees from the "Education, Learning, and Art Division," showcasing how these new residents understand, share, preserve, and promote different educational cultures and artistic learning across various regions!

"Stitching Joy" – Zhang Qin & Zhu Xingfen
Zhang Qin and Zhu Xingfen, sewing artisans from Mainland China, discovered that traditional handcrafts are facing a crisis of disappearing. Through the Dream-Building Project, they hope to pass on the precious art of hand-sewing to the next generation.
They have integrated traditional sewing with modern elements and opened sewing classes at community colleges and senior centers, focusing on handmade cloth bags. They interact with each participant, teaching them from basic to advanced skills. Through exhibitions and community collaborations, they share their students' creations, instilling a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment in the learners, which, in turn, deeply motivates Zhang Qin and Zhu Xingfen to continue passing down this traditional skill.

"Painting Taiwan – The 'Lan' Joint Exhibition" – Lan Lan & Peng Lan
Brought together by a mutual love for painting, Lan Lan and Peng Lan met in Taiwan. Through the Dream-Building Project, they express Taiwan’s natural and cultural landscapes through watercolor and oil painting, conveying emotions such as the feeling of home and longing.
Every stage of the exhibition, from creating the artwork to arranging the display, was carefully planned and fully invested in by the two artists. During the exhibition, they personally guided visitors, welcoming guests, friends, and media. They later held a charity sale of their paintings, with the proceeds donated to organizations for new residents. Unpurchased works will be displayed at the National Immigration Agency service centers to let more people appreciate the beauty of Taiwan as portrayed by these two artists.
