Association of Development and Communication for New Immigrants, Cathay Charity Foundation, New Residents Language Learning Support Center of K-12 Education Administration of Ministry of Education, the local schools in Chunghua, the service center of Legislator Lin Lichan, and Association of Asia Talents jointly held the 4th New Residents Advantage Forum with the Cooperation of Mothers, Children, and Schools for New Resident Cultivation Program Proposals Contest on January 1 at the National YuanLin Senior High School. The forum is mainly for assistance and teaching planning. Association of Development and Communication for New Immigrants will conduct follow-up proposals for teaching guidance and then send it to the relevant organizers after reviewing. The maximum bonus is up to 200,000 NTD for the best proposal.
Pan Linyan, who is a second-generation child of the new resident, already passed the Immigration officer exam: Vietnamese and was invited to share the advantages to a second-generation child in the morning. Also, the first new resident legislator, Lin Lichan, shared her own experiences and encouragement. In the afternoon, the forum discussed new issues of interdisciplinary, cross-ethnic, and bilingual cooperation economics that were divided into 4 topics: "advantages and demands of second-generation children", "exotic cuisines and OMO micro startups", bilingual mothers' international competitiveness", and "second-generation children of the new resident in a way of a global coffee shop and summed up with the discussion results of people's sharing.
The current first legislator of R.O.C, Lin Lichan, who is also the winner of the 15th Ten Outstanding Young Persons: Social Service, also shared her experiences of how she has promoted new residents' employment at the Legislative Yuan during the forum. She stated that the work of new residents is continuous, constantly updating and growing up. The Second Generation of New Residents Advantage Forum has been held for 4 years, and in the beginning, its purpose was to let more people understand new residents. Since she started speaking for new residents at the parliament, the issues about new residents have been valued in recent years. Therefore, the government has also promoted several policies for new residents, and all of these shows that more and more people have recognized new residents' hard works and voices.
Lin Lichan stated that there are now 550,000 new residents in Taiwan, and at least 300,000 of their second generation. So, it is already a group of nearly one million people that has continued to increase. Regarding the new immigrants and their second generation, Lin Lichan has spared no effort. After finishing her term of office in the future, she will also set up a policy center for new residents that cooperates with schools and continue to work for the new resident.
