TAITRA, Carrefour build friendly env. for Ramadan, lauded by Muslim YouTuber

 

To assist Muslims living in Taiwan in easily accessing Halal-certified food products, Carrefour has been working with Taiwan Halal Center of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) to launch a total of 25 Halal-certified products from April 22 to May 23, including Popsmile, HeySong Sarsaparilla, MR.BROWN, Taisun Mesona Tea, Assam Milk Tea, and Mayushan soups. Taiwan Halal Center of TAITRA also invites a Turkish YouTuber studying in Taiwan, Tolga, to enjoy this new Muslim-friendly environment established by Carrefour Guilin and share his unboxing experience on YouTube.

All of the 37 Carrefour stores around Taiwan have established a special area for Ramadan, selling Halal-certified products. Since 2017, Carrefour has been devoting to develop Muslim-friendly environments, and Carrefour Guilin, with the most foreign customers, became the first store to demonstrate it. Carrefour also established Muslim prayer spaces to bring friendly services for Muslim customers and hoped to push Taiwan's high-quality Halal-certified products and Muslim-friendly environments to the international community. Taiwan Halal Center expects to continue to work with Carrefour to raise Taiwan's international visibility.

TAITRA stated that in recent years, more and more Muslim travelers come to Taiwan, and the Taiwanese government has also put much effort into expanding the market to the Muslim world. Coupled with the New Southbound Policy, the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs commissioned TAITRA to form Taiwan Halal Center that has long devoted to promoting Taiwan's Halal industry and creating a more friendly environment for Muslims. So far, a total of 1,000 companies, more than 20,000 products have become Halal-certified. This year, Taiwan Halal Center, working with Carrefour, has raised Taiwan's international visibility by setting up Muslim-friendly environments.
