The Taichung City Houli District Household Registration Office, Taichung City Employment Service Office, and Taiwan New Immigrants Association organized a dessert cooking workshop (創意甜點及飲品調製前導班) in May of this year to offer practical training courses for new immigrants. Through the classes, they may learn the fundamental skills needed for preparing desserts and beverages as well as get a fundamental understanding of connected sectors.

The cooking workshop (創意甜點及飲品調製前導班), according to the deputy director (周瑺玫) of the Taichung Civil Affairs Bureau, is intended to cultivate roles and increase new immigrants’ first grasp and cognition of the work-related sectors. Courses in relevant vocational training enable new immigrants to acquire work skills.

Participants in this training included new immigrants from mainland China, India, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. An Indian new immigrants claimed the training was really useful and he learnt a lot.
