Penghu New Resident Service Center Celebrated Birthday in Foreign Language

Penghu Country Government New Resident Service Center was set up since 1996 in order to provide resources and help with the new resident family. It has been 12 years until now. Earlier days ago, it was the annual birthday celebration. There were fifty people and the new resident coming to the service center for celebration.

Penghu County Department of Social Affair stated that in order to create a warm and happy atmosphere, they used floating pink balloons to decorate the ceiling. Also, there was a photobooth for people to take pictures and check in on Facebook. All kind of foreign desserts were provided too, such as Myanmarese sweet soup, Vietnamese green bean cake and salty rice cake. The celebration was divided into two parts. First, it was the language challenge game, people had to use the dictionary to find out what the Vietnamese and Indonesian birthday cards mean, and then tried to pronounce it with the help of the translator. After that, they said happy birthday to the service center in their newly learned languages. Participants stated that it was a great opportunity to learn new residents’ languages and culture.

In the evening, the second part of the celebration, people went on live on the Facebook page to celebrate with everyone and those in front of the screen. Penghu New Resident Service Center thanks everyone for coming, the 12th annual birthday celebration was really successful. In the future, the service center will keep on promoting more services for the new resident. For more events information, please go to Penghu County New Resident Service Center Facebook page.
