As everyone is looking forward to celebrating Chinese New Year, The Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) reminds the public that “Don’t Drink and Drive”. Regardless of whether the individuals are foreigners or Taiwan citizens, it is illegal to drink and drive, and one will need to face fines and penalties.

MOL will also assess the severity of problems caused by each drink and drive case and revoke the employment permit of migrant workers or restrict them from leaving Taiwan if it is necessary according to the “Employment Services Act”. Therefore, migrant workers violating laws will not be allowed to work in Taiwan in the future.
In addition, this will also inadvertently affect the production of factories. Hence, employers are encouraged to pay more attention to the habits and behaviors of migrant workers in Taiwan, and share road safety tips & traffic laws with them patiently.
