To increase the overall vaccination rate, National Immigration Agency (NIA) launched the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” that encourages foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers to receive free vaccination.
NIA (Chiayi County Service Center), Chiayi Brigade, and Chiayi County Meishan Township Office are actively promoting the program to local foreigners and set up a vaccination site at the Meishan Township Public Health Center. The public is welcome to get vaccinated this Thursday, January 20.
Lin Bing Huang (林炳煌), the Director of Chiayi County Service Center, stated that the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” adopts four principles, “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned” and it will last until January 31, 2022.
Undocumented migrant workers and overstayers can receive free vaccination at the designated vaccination sites and medical institutions. During the process, the medical institution will not notify the public security agencies, nor will they conduct inspections at the vaccination site. Moreover, the individuals do not have to report to NIA first before getting vaccinated. Personnel of NIA will also assist foreign nationals in applying for a UI No. to facilitate the vaccination process.
