Taipei police, new residents work together to fight domestic violence

The Women's and Children's Protection Division particularly released a promotional video for violence prevention, "聽不懂常吵架?家庭危機要找誰?", on Mother's Day. New residents from Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Indonesia, acting as mothers to share their life experiences of domestic violence and how they sought help when facing it. The Division also expected that members of the public can show their care and concern for new residents living in Taiwan.

Study shows that due to language barriers and cultural differences, new residents often face issues of domestic violence. Also, lacking access to information, they are usually unable to protect themselves through a proper channel. Moreover, it might be hard for them to leave such environments, considering their children and residence permits.

To provide a more comprehensive service and a proper channel for new residents who face domestic violence, the Women's and Children's Protection Division particularly released a promotional video for violence prevention, "聽不懂常吵架?家庭危機要找誰?", to help new immigrants stand up and protect themselves.

The video has been uploaded on the website of the Women's and Children's Protection Division. For more detailed information on domestic prevention, please visit the "婦幼福佑" Facebook page.
