CECC confirms 130 more COVID-19 cases, including 82 domestic cases and 48 imported cases

According to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), there are 130 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those 130 cases, 82 are domestic and 48 are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 12 men and 70 women, aged between under 10 and above 70 years old.

Regarding the 48 new imported cases, they are 29 men and 19 women, aged between under 5 and above 70 years old. 13 of them are from the US, 4 from Singapore and Canada, 3 from the Philippines, 2 from India, Turkey, and Hong Kong each, 1 from Austria, Nigeria, Italy, Cambodia, Germany, Vietnam, and Brazil each. The remaining 11 cases arrived are being investigated. They arrived between March 31, 2021 to January 21, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,418,957 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,400,086. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 18,238 cases. Of the 18,238 confirmed cases, 3,331 are imported; 14,853 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection.

The command center once again appeals to the public that one should keep hands clean, wear a mask, reduce unnecessary travel, activities, or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to follow various regulations and stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community
