To manifest Taiwan-UK friendly relations and bilateral interactions, Taipei Representative Office in the United Kingdom particularly invited the British-Taiwanese All-Party Parliamentary Group (abbreviated to the APPG) to record a new year greetings video posted on Facebook and wish Taiwanese public a happy new year in Mandarin.

 

Lord Faulkner, the United Kingdom's Trade Envoy to Taiwan and Deputy Speaker of House of Lords of the UK, Lord Rogan, Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords and Co-Chair of the APPG, Nigel Evans, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, and Baroness D’Souza, former Speaker of House of Lords and a MP jointly wished Taiwanese people a happy new year with great fortunes and health.

 

Besides, Rt Hon Greg Hands, former Minister of Department of International Trade and a current Member of Parliament (MP), Andrew Rosindell, Vice-Chair of the APPG, Sarah Champion, Vice-Chair of the APPG, Scott Mann, a member of the APPG, and Lord Alton, a member of House of Lords also gave new year greetings including "Guo tai min an"(國泰民安), "Xin xiang shi cheng" (心想事成), "Da ji da li" (大吉大利), "Hao yun shu bu wan" (好運「鼠」不完) in English and Mandarin.
