Immigration Department and Tzu Chi Foundation visited migrant workers on the Dragon Boat Festival

The Nantou County Service Station of the Immigration Department together with Nantou County Special Duty Team, the Nantou County Government Social and Labor Department, the Police Department Foreign Affairs Division and the Tzu Chi Foundation’s office at Zhushan have jointly organized the "Supporting migrant workers – celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival together".

According to the "Charity News Network" report, in addition to celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival, the event also promoted the laws and regulations that are closely related to the life of migrant workers. For example, it introduced criminal cases which migrant workers can accidentally cause; the ban on meat products when entering Taiwan.

In order to let the migrant workers experience the festival’s atmosphere, the Tzu Chi volunteers sent a vegan rice dumpling with fruits to each migrant worker. During the event, there were many fascinating performances, such as action dramas, cabaret performances, and health consultations.

Through this activity, Cai Chongfu, Director of Nantou County Service Station, hoped the migrant workers can feel the caring spirit of the local people so that they can focus on work and enjoy Taiwan's friendliness and generousity.
