During its forthcoming 50th anniversary tour, Taiwan's Cloud Gate Dance Theatre will stream live a performance of its iconic work "Legacy." The 45th anniversary of "Legacy," a work by creator Lin Hwai-min (林懷民), was celebrated just a few days ago at Tamsui's Cloud Gate Theater. Cloud Gate Dance Theatre has chosen to offer an outdoor broadcast of the performance at the National Theater & Concert Hall on April 29 which allows more people to witness the beauty of Cloud Gate Dance Theater as all the tour tickets have already sold out.

Lin Hwai-min (林懷民), the creator of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, is best known for his iconic piece "Legacy," which made its premiere in 1978. A live soundtrack performance by Taiwan's renowned Ju Percussion Group was also invited for this 50th anniversary tour.
According to a release from Cloud Gate, "Legacy" relates the tale of the early immigrants' perilous crossing of the Taiwan Strait and how they established new lives in Taiwan in the 17th century.
According to Lin, it's a tale about Taiwan and the human race as a whole and working with the newest group of young dancers has given him a newfound sense of the value of life.

Since the tickets for other tour performances of "Legacy" have been sold out, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre will open an outdoor broadcast at 7:45 p.m. on April 29th to offer general public the opportunity to appreciate the 50th anniversary edition of "Legacy."
