According to “The China Post” report,  550,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT) vaccines arrived in Taiwan, and many second-generation new immigrants and local Taiwanese students are waiting to receive their first dose of the vaccine.

However, since the different brands of vaccines have different side effects and different vaccine information, the Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) is worried that new immigrants may have questions about the vaccination measures for their children because of language problems and other reasons. Therefore, the MOL released various “BNT Vaccine Information Sheets ” in ChineseEnglishIndonesianThai, and Vietnamese.

The vaccine sheets include information on how the vaccines should not be used alternatively or in combination with other vaccine brands and should not be administered to a recipient who is suffering from fever or other acute moderate-to-severe illnesses. The document also lists some possible side effects after receiving the BNT vaccine, including pain or swelling at the injection spot, headaches, fatigue, and possible fevers.

At the bottom of the document is a consent form for parents to fill up for their children, which states that they have understood all relevant information on the BioNTech vaccine and agree to let their children receive the vaccine. The present schedule is for the ninth category of people between 12 to 22 years of age. The CECC (指揮中心) also added, that they are planning to start the vaccination of citizens aged 49 and above, depending on the availability of the BNT vaccine.
