According to PH, UK seek boost in cooperation on arts, language, sustainability projects | Global News (inquirer.net), on initiatives pertaining to the arts, sustainability, and English as a second language, the Philippines and the United Kingdom are searching for methods to strengthen and formally establish collaboration (ESL). The UK ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Laure Beaufils, paid a courtesy call to a DOT official in Makati City on Thursday, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT), and this was one of the topics she and Frasco discussed.
According to Frasco, the department wants to aggressively pursue growth markets in Europe and increase the number of tourists from the UK.
On this issue, according to Frasco, they are aggressively contacting both domestic and foreign airline partners. Not only will opening new routes benefit their overseas Filipino employees, but it will also attract more visitors from the UK and Europe. The goal is to attract tourists from that region to the Philippines since they know their tourism offerings are very alluring to Europeans.
Likewise, she has advocated for the two nations to consider joint promotions, ESL instruction, and the utilization of public venues for educational and cultural interchange.
The DOT head then commended the UK for aiding the Philippines in training for tourism security and for being upbeat about the effort to reopen Mindanao to all tourists.
