Six Main Thematic Areas and Activity Highlights:

The 2024 New Taipei City Children's Art Festival features six main thematic areas: Joy Square, Monster City Gate, Monster Trail, Monster Story House, Fantasy Castle, and Pegasus Town. These areas encompass performances, art installations, interactive experiences, and technological arts. The festival will kick off with an opening performance by the If Kids Theatre Group at 6:30 PM on July 13th, followed by the cross-theatre performance "Wings of Hope" on July 14th. On July 20th, the K-Mei Symphonic Wind Orchestra will present a cartoon animation extravaganza, featuring a suite of popular cartoon animations from the 1970s to the present. The Creative Theatre Troupe of Andersen and Mozart will host a roof-top party of joy on July 21st, with live bands accompanying actors in song and dance. The performance will integrate large-scale puppetry to engage the audience in creating joyful parent-child moments using handmade instruments.

In addition, from July 13th to July 21st, a nine-day circus performance will be held continuously, including parade performances, magic shows, singing and dancing shows, circus dramas, and other programs. A market and circus experience area are also planned. From Monday to Friday evenings, the YOYO Family will perform singing and dancing with popular cartoon stars, and Spain's Cal y Canto Teatro troupe will present their definitive performances. Furthermore, the Monster Trail will feature nine artistic installations by domestic and international artists, including the music interactive installation "Monster Village," blessing interactive installations, and sensory interactive installations, among other experiential facilities, creating a fantastical art exhibition.

Collaborative Experience Activities:

Chang Li-yu, Director of the New Taipei City Cultural Bureau, stated that this year's Children's Art Festival will also collaborate with the Far Eastern Foundation for Education and Culture and the Yushou Education Foundation to launch thematic experience activities. In addition to the New Taipei Civic Plaza and Fuzhong Civic Plaza, various arts and cultural centers and museums under the Cultural Bureau will simultaneously launch themed experience activities for the Children's Art Festival, enabling more families to participate in this artistic feast.
