To promote the diverse learning of foreign languages to university students, the Department of Marine and Border Management of National Quemoy University (金門大學) offers a "Burmese language" course.

Under the guidance of Teacher Cai Li Hua (蔡麗華), the learning is carried out by using vocabulary, grammar, sentence making and conversation. Besides, the learning effectiveness is enhanced by introducing cultural traditions such as Burmese customs, trying exotic cuisines, and donning Burmese traditional costumes.

Chen Jian Min (陳建民), the principal of National Quemoy University, mentioned that in this globalized society, it is important to have the ability to demonstrate proficiency in multiple languages.

Besides the international English courses, National Quemoy University has successively opened language courses in Japanese, Korean, German, French, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Malay. Teacher Cai Li Hua is also an Overseas Chinese from Myanmar, and students have learned a lot during lessons.

Besides learning in classes, students also participated in the charitable event organized by Taiwan Fund for Children and Families in Kinmen. By sharing Burmese gourmet food and milk tea with people residing in Kinmen, the students were able to put knowledge and cultures learned into practice.
