The annual "Windmill festival" in the Qingjing farm was launched on the 29th July. The farm uses forage and straw to make a "Flying Sheep" artwork. Then the mountain wind blows the rainbow windmill and the wind chime jingles. It is a good place to go out during the summer vacation.
The Veterans Affairs Council and the Qingjing Farm has launched a two-month "Windmill festival" with many activities. The farm uses natural materials, such forage and straw to install "Flying Sheep" artwork in the Guanshan Pastoral Area. There are mountains, blue sky and white clouds, it is a lot if fun to enjoy the view the "Flying Sheep" and to listen the wind chimes in the Rainbow Mill as if blowing away the summer heat.
The opening ceremony kicked off with the classical music performance of the grassland alliance mascots Kerry and Dolly, and the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.
The CNA quoted that Dong Yuwen, the director of the Qingjing Farm, sayed: Many shepherding activities will continue to be launched, various kinds of sheeps will be arranged, as well as the "wind chimes", that paire with the windmills of the pastoral area. The beautiful scenery of the mountains and the cool breeze blowing from the mountains are really charming."
Dong Yuwen also explained that Qingjing Farm is about 1750 meters above sea level, so is the best choice for summer travel, the farm green grassland bring the most popular tourist attraction. It is the famous "Shearing show". The sheep swarm through the grassland and welcome visitors to interact with them. Visitor can also enjoy the view of the mountains. Before going home, they can buy limited edition dolls as a souvenir.
In view of the crowds in the Qingjing Farm during the holidays, the Nantou County Government Police Bureau also explained the government's "Youth Project" to the visitors at the opening ceremony. Sub-committee Lin Wenzhao recommended young people to engage in healthy activities during the summer vacation, do not use drugs, join gangs, or drive cars. The police will also strengthen juvenile crime prevention and create a safe environment for growth.
