The Department of Health, Kaohsiung City Government recently held a Dengue fever prevention and promotion press conference to strengthen the promotion of incentives for imported migrant workers to take tests. This was done in response to the full opening of Taiwan's borders and to stop the spread of Dengue fever to Taiwan and utilize inspection methods to stop the importation of the Dengue virus from other nations and the spread of the disease in Taiwanese communities. For the purpose of increasing public knowledge of health management among the general public and migrant workers and lowering the danger of the fever, the preventive and control news conference also encouraged participation from Taiwan Visitors Associations, new immigrant groups, and multinational corporations.

A 500 NTD gift voucher can be obtained after passing the rapid screening test at the Kaohsiung International Airport and assisting with the epidemic prevention measures if you have suspected symptoms when entering the country from an area where Dengue fever is endemic. This is part of the Department of Health, Kaohsiung City Government’s strategy for Dengue fever prevention measures.

A NT$500 gift voucher will be granted to a new immigrant who enters the nation from an area where Dengue fever is prevalent, experiences suspected symptoms within 14 days, and reports to a Dengue fever contract medical facility within two days of commencement. If new immigrant completes the quick screening and epidemic investigation at the health center within five days of returning to Taiwan, they can also receive a NT$500 gift voucher. This applies if they go to the health center to receive a care package before going home to visit family or traveling abroad.

According to the Department of Health, Kaohsiung City Government, newly imported Southeast Asian migrant workers and fishermen should undergo rapid Dengue fever screening within three days of entry. Those who test positive will then be sent right away to designated hospitals for isolation.

Within five days after arriving in Kaohsiung City, migrant workers can visit the clinics or health bureaus for screening. A NT$100 epidemic prevention certificate can be obtained through the migrant worker agency, the employer, or the migrant worker.

The migrant worker agency, employer, or manager may receive a NT$500 gift voucher if a migrant worker falls ill within 14 days of entering the country, seeks medical attention within two days of the onset of illness, and cooperates with inspections, epidemic investigations, and other epidemic prevention work.

The Kaohsiung City Epidemic Prevention Team has increased cleaning work for hotels where entry and exit are permanent residences, high-risk areas, and the surrounding environment in response to the relaxation of international restrictions. This includes installing high-efficiency mosquito traps and strictly enforcing disinfection regulations, among other measures, to prevent and control the importation of Dengue fever viruses from abroad.
