Landman Maria Elizabeth, a 63-year-old lady from South Africa, has two children residing in Taiwan for several years. She came to Taiwan to meet her children on a visitor visa. A corporation – Ixwcca (宜萱婦幼關懷協會) discovered Landman’s music talent and hoped she could stay in Taiwan and nurture more music professionals here.

With assistance provided by National Immigration Agency (Yilan County Service Center), Landman obtained the ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate in March.

Landman graduated from the Music Department of the University of Pretoria. She was the director of the Children's Choir, the school music teacher, and the chorus director. Besides, she performed with the famous KwaZulu-Natal Youth Choir in South Africa before.

Landman’s son has naturalized as a Taiwan national, and she wants to teach music skills to more immigrants in Taiwan too. Now, she is serving as the Music Director of the immigrants’ singing & dance classes.

NIA Yilan County Service Center offered relevant information on its own initiative and helped Landman get her ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate under the Act for the recruitment and employment of foreign professionals.

Now, her dream of staying in Taiwan has come true. Landman shared her happiness of having her ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate and expressed her gratitude to Ixwcca and NIA. Jian Yu Ping (簡玉屏), the Director of Yilan County Service Center, also sent congratulations notes to Landman.

In addition, regarding the measures for foreign professionals to come and stay in Taiwan, the government has further eased relevant measures. It is hoped that more foreign professional talents will come and stay in Taiwan.
