According to Gokongwei airline prepares aggressive hiring plan | Inquirer Business, ahead of a record $12 billion purchase for new aircraft, Cebu Pacific has laid up ambitious hiring plans for thousands of pilots, aircraft mechanics, and cabin personnel over the next five years.

In order to get ready for the airline's anticipated hiring of 1,500 new pilots to operate more than 100 new aircraft expected in the next ten years, preparations include strengthening relationships with local flight schools and even making direct investments in these establishments.

CEO Michael Szucs of Cebu Pacific stated in an interview on October 17 that the company's priority is staying ahead of the curve and ahead of our aircraft numbers.

Domestic schools have sent a call for proposals to Cebu Pacific, an organization with over 4,000 people, including over 900 pilots, seeking to acquire pilots for its upcoming fleet needs.

Notwithstanding, according to Gokongwei airline prepares aggressive hiring plan | Inquirer Business, Szucs stated that they are aware of the necessity for a steady supply of qualified flight attendants, given the continuous pilot shortage in the world.

The bidding terms for 100–150 new aircraft from US manufacturer Boeing and European industrial behemoth Airbus, which would be delivered in stages beginning as early as 2027, are being finalized by Cebu Pacific.

The proposed privatization of Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport and conglomerate San Miguel Corp.'s (SMC) P740-billion New Manila International Airport in Bulacan, a region north of Metro Manila, Szucs added, was another factor motivating their strong desire to grow.

As SMC said that it would start accepting flights by 2026, Cebu Pacific also hopes to be the biggest airline using the New Manila International Airport.

Speaking about SMC's design specifications for the new international gateway, according to Gokongwei airline prepares aggressive hiring plan | Inquirer Business, Szucs indicated that discussions were still in progress.
