The Penghu County Special Task Team of the Central Affairs Brigade of the National Immigration Agency (移民署中區事務大隊澎湖縣專勤隊) was invited to attend the "New Immigrant Family Interaction" (新住民家庭互動關係) series of activities recently organized by the Penghu County Government (澎湖縣政府) to promote legal information related to migrant workers, fishermen and new immigrants of Penghu County. Legal information was shared during the event, to increase the legal knowledge of the new immigrants and to protect their rights and interests. In addition, the county government invited lecturers to teach "Quilting" and "Weaving" courses on-site to welcome the new immigrants in their new life, and to promote parent-child relationship in the family.

The Central Affairs Brigade of the National Immigration Agency Penghu County Special Task Team provides legal advice and information on car accidents which is the most common kind of cases that involve migrant workers, fishermen, and new immigrants. At the same time, the special task team responded to the legal employment issues and stressed relevant legal concepts to avoid negligence and violation of the law by migrant workers and fishermen in Penghu. The team also reminded them that even if the epidemic alert has been reduced to Level 2, it is still necessary to wash hands frequently, wear masks, and implement the epidemic prevention regulations of the Central Epidemic Command Center (中央流行疫情指揮中心).

Chen Pao-tuan (陳寶緞), director of the Social Affairs Department of the Penghu County Government (澎湖縣政府社會處), said that the integrated community service locations for the new residents in the area will continue to handle various activities and link the new residents’ internet resources to provide diversified and convenient local community services.

The director also thanked the National Immigration Agency’s special team that serves migrant workers, fishermen, and new immigrants within its jurisdiction. In the future, it will continue to use various channels to provide new immigrants with the latest information.
