Q: After switching to the new ID number, can I use the new ID to rent a car? Will my previous rental records still be available? Who can I contact if I have related questions?
A:
(I) Foreign visitors can use the new ID number for car rental, and previous rental records will remain. You can check past records using the old ID number, mobile number, or email used during registration.

A:
(I) Airline Websites: UNI Air, Mandarin Airlines, and Daily Air's websites accept the new ID number for ticketing.
(II) Convenience Store Ticket System:

  • Passengers on UNI Air and Mandarin Airlines flights can purchase tickets at convenience stores using the new ID.
  • Daily Air does not yet offer convenience store ticket services.

Q: Can I use the airport's KIOSK self-check-in system with the new ID number?
A:
(I) Passengers on Daily Air flights can use the KIOSK self-check-in with the new ID number. For inquiries, contact Daily Air (07-8069397, 089-362676).
(II) UNI Air and Mandarin Airlines do not offer KIOSK check-in for foreign residents, so check-in must be done in person. For inquiries, contact UNI Air (02-2508-6999) or Mandarin Airlines (412-8008).

Q: Can I book tickets using the old ID number?
A: International flights require passport numbers for booking. For domestic flights, Daily Air, UNI Air, and Mandarin Airlines offer ticketing with the new ID.

Q: If I have questions regarding ticket bookings on public transport (train, bus, HSR) using the new ID, who can I contact?
A:
(I) Train: Contact the Taiwan Railways Administration Customer Service at 0800-765-888 (landline) or 02-2191-0096.
(II) Bus: Contact the specific bus company.
(III) HSR: Foreign residents can buy tickets on the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR) website. Visit http://www.thsrc.com.tw for more information or contact customer service.

Q: Can I use the new ID number to purchase public transport tickets at convenience stores?
A:
(I) Train: Foreigners can book tickets with their passport number or new/old ID number.
(II) Bus: Foreigners can book tickets with their passport number or new/old ID number.
(III) HSR: No ID or passport number entry is required at convenience stores.

Q: Can I check past bookings made with the old ID number after switching to the new one?
A:
(I) Train: New ID numbers cannot retrieve old records; use the old ID or passport number for queries.
(II) Bus: New IDs cannot retrieve old records. For those who registered online with a passport number, past records can be checked with transaction history.
(III) HSR: Use the ID number entered during booking to retrieve records.

Q: If I booked public transportation tickets (train, bus, HSR) with my old ID, can I still use them after switching IDs? What ID should I use when collecting tickets at convenience stores?
A:
(I) Train:
(i)Foreigners can book with passport numbers or old/new ID numbers.
(ii)Collect tickets with the ID used at the time of booking.

(II) Bus:
(i)Foreigners can book with passport numbers or old/new ID numbers.
(ii)Collect tickets with the ID used at the time of booking.

(III) HSR:
(i)Foreigners can book tickets with passport numbers or residence permit numbers in the HSR booking system or T Express app.
