On National Highway No. 1, a woman was recently cycling on the road shoulder. The police received a call right away from the public. The female rider was stopped by the National Highway Police when they arrived on the scene. They discovered that she was a South African and that she was likely unfamiliar with the road conditions and traffic laws when she accidently crossed the national highway. The police not only fined the woman in line with the law but also brought her to a secure location.

The South African woman, 24, is employed in Taiwan at the moment. She was planning to travel to Linkou District of New Taipei City after renting a YouBike that day. The woman also accidently went onto the national highway, as suggested by the GPS. When the police arrived to halt the South African woman shortly after receiving the report, the woman recognized she had broken the traffic law.
The police immediately demanded that workers remove the YouBike before driving the woman to Linkou, issuing a citation, and making it plain that the bicycle was not to be used on a national highway
