2021 Yun Lin International Puppet Theater Festival starts from today to October 30!
For the first time, the event adopts both virtual and physical competitions and it includes exciting content as follows, the premiere of Zhong Ren Bi’s (鍾任壁) documentary films, the 15th Golden Palm Award (金掌獎), the 3rd Youth Palm Awards live broadcast & award ceremony, International Film Festival of Puppet Show, puppet show podcast, and online voting for creative voice-over contests.

The Yunlin (雲林) County Mayor Zhang Li Shan (張麗善) said that Yunlin is the hometown of puppet show and Huwei (虎尾) town definitely has profound importance to it. The county government attaches great importance to the traditional culture of the puppet show.
The annual event, Yunlin International Puppet Show, has entered its 19th year. This cultural festival has a long history of Taiwan puppet show. This year, in accordance with the regulations of the Central Epidemic Command Center, the activities will be held jointly online and offline.

Yunlin International Puppet Arts Festival was founded in 1999, creating a variety of performing schools. In addition, it combines with exhibitions of arts, cultural and creative works, and installation art of agricultural product puppets, and promoting, encouraging, teaching and experiencing glove puppetry to enable sustainable development and to pass on the heritage of glove puppetry culture.
With the theme of “Martial arts world” (武林天下), 2021 Yun Lin International Puppet Theater Festival invites every master of the puppet show to create a global exclusive puppet show event together. For the physical exhibition, master Chen Ming Shan’s theater will be exhibited at the Yunlin Puppet Theater until October 30.
