Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-Zhe said in a media release on Thursday (17 June) that there were up to 28,000 vacancies left on the vaccination booking system which welcomed senior residents in Taipei City above 80, household registered in the city or not, to book an appointment online.

According to Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-Zhe, there are up to 98.04% senior citizens vaccinated in the first wave of online booking system for vaccination. (Source from Taipei City Government, TCG)
Ko stated that in the first wave of vaccination for seniors above 85 and aboriginal seniors above 65, a total of 31,996 people had made appointments, and 31,370 of them had received their doses, which made a vaccination rate of 98.04%. Among them, 86.5% of the vaccinated joined the booking system online.

Ko also mentioned the benefits of online appointments. A confirmation SMS or phone call would be made to the vaccination booker within an hour of appointment. Ko guaranteed that there would be enough vaccinations for every citizen, and one would only have to visit the polyclinic in accordance with the appointed schedule.
