Personnel working on the Taiwan New Immigrants Dance Contest project noted that the contest system adjustments for this year include new ability groups, lowered registration eligibility requirements, and an outlying island recommendation method. In the past, it was discovered that the candidates' skills varied greatly, making novices reluctant to enter the contest. As a result, it was split into two groups for the first time this year.

The registration requirements for the contest have also been loosened, and the proportion of new immigrants in the initial team has been decreased from two-thirds to one-third in an effort to entice more teams to join up. A unique recommendation mechanism for distant islands has also been created this year. They are eligible to attend the finals as long as half of their team members are new immigrants with household registrations on Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu, Green Island, Lanyu, and other remote islands.
