During the pandemic, many new resident families face financial hardship and Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) in Hualien helps disadvantaged families to overcome the difficulties. Recently, TFCF calls the public to use quintuple stimulus vouchers for charitable donations. Starting from today until April 30, 2022, people can bring their vouchers for donations at various TFCF locations. Besides, they can also choose to donate via the "online donation platform" to support those in need.

According to the statistics from TFCF in Hualien, more than 80% of those received helps only have one person working to financially support the family. 60 % of the families have a monthly income of less than NT$25,000 and more than 75% are supported by single parents, adopts grandparenting, the disabled or new residents, etc. Firsthand accounts state, they found due to the lack of resources in the remote villages, the cycle of poverty, together with impacts of pandemic, the hardships these families face worsens.

“Donations for children” is the main fund-raising project for families. The funds of this project are also channeled into helping disadvantaged families and children in remote rural places. The donations from quintuple stimulus vouchers will be used to assist in financial aids, psychological counseling, behavior counseling, parental education, medical care, recreational activities, schoolwork counseling, and other activities and programs to maintain functions of the family.
