Registration for the 2021-2022 Overseas Compatriot students Translation Competition starts from today till December 5. Overseas Chinese students living in Taiwan who are able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Burmese. Stand a chance to win the championship of NT$30,000 and the runner-up of NT$20000, and the second runner-up of NT$10,000.

The competition consists of three stages, including the first review, the second review and an interview. To find the student who can translate the best, not only will they be awarded trophies and certificates but there will also be scholarships provided. The chairman of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, Republic of China - Tong Zhen Yuan (童振源) says, “welcome students to take the challenge”

To enable overseas Chinese students to better understand Taiwan's Building and Construction, this year's translation competition also includes "company visits" and "Talks given by famous lecturers", so that students can improve their translation skills. The organizer estimates that the number of participants this year will exceed that of last year. For now, there are already more than 1,000 applicants.
