The Cijin Kite Festival, the Popcorn Chicken Carnival, and other exciting events have been introduced by the Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government in response to the summer break, making Kaohsiung City a desirable summer vacation destination for the general public.

With newly opened cafes, water plazas, DIY experiences, Conservation Theater, and other activities, Shoushan Zoo offers free admission for children under the age of 12 in Taiwan starting in July, according to the director of the Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government. The park will also extend its opening hours to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Additionally, every Saturday and Sunday in July, there are limited markets and activities. Food-related festivals like the Popcorn Chicken Carnival and Milk Tea Festival take place from mid-August to September. This year, the Cijin Kite Festival, which has sparked the public's interest, has also been extended by three weeks, encouraging visitors to take in the water park with air cushions and the nightly kite show every Saturday.
