The 30th of June saw the 2023 Taiwan International Balloon Festival take place in Taitung's Luye Highlands. The first hot air balloon light sculpture and drone performance in Taiwan from last year will be repeated this year in addition to the Matsu Balloon, which made its debut. Namewee Wee Meng Chee (黃明志), a singer-songwriter from Malaysia, was also particularly invited by the organizer to the festival.

This year, the 60-day Taiwan International Balloon Festival, which takes place every two months from June 30 to August 28, celebrated its 13th anniversary. This year's festival included more than 30 local and international hot air balloons in addition to 3 rounds performances using 700 drones and 9 night light sculpture concerts at Chishang, Chenggong and Taimali.

The Taiwan International Balloon Festival, according to the Taitung County Mayor, is always making breakthroughs. The most ever hot air balloon light sculpture concerts will take place this year, totaling nine. A hot air balloon market and a fantastic "hot air balloon firework show" will also hold in August, inviting visitors to Taitung to take part in the spectacular event.
