According to the Environment Protection Department of the New Taipei City Government, the Department will organize beach cleanup activities in Wanli, Ruifang and Shimen on July 209th, August 10th and September 17th of this year, respectively, to rise the public’s awareness on the value of beach cleanup and associated safety measures. In order for the participants to comprehend the production of marine trash and the harm that marine debris does to living creatures, the activity's content comprises interactive courses and practical beach cleanup. Thirty people are allowed to register for each event, which begins on July 11th and concludes one week before to each event.

The Environment Protection Department said that as long as they go to the shop with floating balls (淨灘合作社), people can borrow tools if they wish to clean up the beach during regular hours. The shop and the cleaning crew will provide a hand with the subsequent waste collection and transportation after the beach has been thoroughly cleaned. Please visit the Environment Protection Administration's Executive Yuan "Coastal Clean-up and Adoption System" to schedule a time for waste disposal services if significant organizations, such as businesses and associations, desire to arrange beach cleanup activities.
