The Pingtung National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is making a spectacular return this summer! The brand-new exhibition "Wanderers Under the Waves" will debut from June 29 to October 13, inviting you to explore the wondrous world of the ocean. This event is a special collaboration with the Cultural Content Creation Agency’s (CCC) Comic Tour Taiwan, featuring the popular Taiwanese original comic "Sea Witch Office" by Aiya Ya. The exhibition anthropomorphizes marine creatures and features adorable characters from the comic, guiding visitors into a magical ocean world.

The event highlights five major attractions, starting with the "Blue Whale Tunnel," showcasing a stunning 12-meter giant comic wall depicting the fantastical ocean characters from "Sea Witch Office," providing visitors with a breathtaking visual experience. Next, the premiere of the blue whale skeleton exhibition documentary will unveil the story of this magnificent marine creature, prompting deep reflection on marine conservation.

The aquarium also transforms into a large-scale real-life comic scene, featuring five anthropomorphized characters created in collaboration with Aiya Ya, including the hammerhead shark, boxfish, wrasse, Adélie penguin, and macaroni penguin. The fun of the event lies in following these characters to discover hidden Easter eggs throughout the aquarium. In collaboration with Aiya Ya, the author of 'Sea Witch Office,' visitors can follow the exclusive characters of the Marine Biology and Aquarium to find hidden Easter eggs. Every Saturday from 1:30 to 2:00 PM, the World Waters Hall will host the limited-time science education activity "Whale Fall, All Things Thrive," introducing the life story of whales and their vital impact on marine ecosystems. Following this, all of the aquarium’s mascots will gather for an intimate meet-and-greet under the giant whale.

The fifth highlight is the newly upgraded "Behind-the-Scenes Fish Feeding Experience," featuring a new hands-on small shark feeding experience, allowing you to observe these ocean predators up close and challenge stereotypes about sharks. Additionally, the immersive projection in the Ocean Pool at the Taiwan Waters Pavilion has been updated with footage from the perspective of the keepers, offering visitors a richer viewing experience.

To enhance audience engagement, the aquarium is also hosting the "Wanderers Short Video Contest" on Instagram during the event period. Simply film a 30-60 second vertical short video with the comic characters inside the aquarium for a chance to win exciting prizes, including the "0.1mm with Penguins" penguin care experience. Hurry to the Pingtung National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium to join us in exploring the endless mysteries of the ocean!
