The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts has been actively promoting digital collections to integrate art into everyday life. This Mid-Autumn Festival, the museum once again collaborates with Taichung’s The Place by Royal Hotels Group to launch the “Full Moon” gift box. Inspired by artist Xue Baoxia’s abstract painting “Non-Zero Point,” the design symbolizes warmth and reunion. The box includes various French desserts featuring Taiwanese ingredients, offering a taste of art alongside the delicacies. The reusable gift box combines aesthetics and practicality, showcasing the unique charm of cross-industry collaboration.Joint Ceremony - Laoye Group CEO Shen Fangzheng (left), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts Director Chen Kuangyi (right) (Photo / Source: Ministry of Culture website)

The director of the museum, Chen Kuang-Yi, pointed out that the museum actively uses digital collections to encourage academic research, education, publishing, and product design. In recent years, it has pursued brand collaborations, highlighting the added value of cross-industry partnerships. This year marks the third collaboration between the museum and The Place by Royal Hotels, extending the “Non-Zero Point” series with the “Reunion” double-layer cup set designed by The Place. These collaborations not only support the museum's sustainable development but also promote the creation of diverse cultural aesthetics in daily life.

In Eastern culture, a circle symbolizes reunion, completeness, and harmony. The “Full Moon” gift box carries this symbolism, inspired by Xue Baoxia’s abstract painting “Non-Zero Point,” representing the slow movement of time. The painting’s background repeatedly plays with negative space, layering, and erasure, inviting viewers to explore the meaning of each symbol. The box’s primary colors of blue and orange evoke emotions and imagination, adding a playful touch to the autumn season. Through art, the gift box connects cultural and emotional experiences during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The contents of the box are carefully selected from “La Famille,” a French dessert brand awarded the 2024 Taichung Top Ten Souvenirs Jury Award. It includes three unique butterfly cookies: soy sauce-flavored from Xiluo, Yunlin; mildly sweet Sanwen sugar from Huwei; and salted yolk from Pingtung’s Sijhongsi. A mix of handmade cookies—village butter, maple crisp, and Breton shortbread—offers delightful surprises. The box also contains classic or chocolate-flavored cookies, buttery and satisfying, along with five drip coffee packs featuring medium-roast flavors of hawthorn plum, nut chocolate, and grape cream, and two Italian medium-dark roast blends with creamy floral notes.Mid-Autumn "Full Moon" Gift Box Appearance and Contents

With its rich collection of art, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts continuously transforms artists' works to enhance everyday aesthetics, creating deep local connections through cultural celebrations. The Place by Royal Hotels is dedicated to crafting extraordinary travel experiences, while La Famille French Desserts aims to bring the warmth of home into each delicacy. The trio’s collaboration for the “Full Moon” Mid-Autumn Festival gift box offers a uniquely thoughtful holiday gift.
