The new coronavirus variant Omicron has put the world in a state of high alert. As both Christmas and New Year’s Eve activities are around the corner, there is a need to increase the vaccination rate before these major events start. Hence, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) set up a “Moderna vaccination site” in the west corridor of the main hall of Taipei Main Station. Eligibility is not limited to people of Taiwanese nationality and a PX Mart voucher worth NT$100 will be given after vaccination.

According to the CECC, Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥) announced a Moderna vaccination site has been set up at the west corridor of the main hall of Taipei Main Station and is open to offer the Modern vaccine to both Taiwanese citizens and foreign nationals from December 5 and December 9, through 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Eligibility is not limited to people of Taiwanese nationality; foreigners are able to get vaccinated too. Besides, no appointment is required to be made and individuals can get a gift (A PX Mart voucher worth NT$100) after vaccination.

Furthermore, it is reminded that those who have completed a dose of vaccination should bring the Vaccination Record (the yellow card), and those who are eligible for National Health Insurance (NHI) should bring along their Health insurance card (NIC). For foreign nationals without NHI, they should bring their passports, residence permits and other identification certificates.

  2. Individuals who received their first dose of Moderna at least four weeks ago;
  3. Individuals who received their first dose of AstraZeneca at least eight weeks ago.

In addition to the vaccination stations, the operating hours for some hospitals have been adjusted to provide Moderna vaccines. The hospitals include hospitals under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, under the Veterans Affairs Council, R.O.C., and under the Ministry of National Defense.

The public is encouraged to seize the opportunity to complete 2 doses of vaccines as soon as possible to be fully protected.
