Yangmingshan New Year Flag-Raising and Seven Star Mountain Hike to Welcome the First Sunrise
To welcome the New Year, Yangmingshan National Park will hold a New Year's Day flag-raising ceremony and Seven Star Mountain hiking event on January 1 under the theme “Welcoming the Dawn, Greeting the New Year.” The public is invited to step into nature at a relaxed pace and greet the arrival of the new year amid the mountain landscape.The flag-raising ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the Yangmingshan National Park Visitor Center, accompanied by an opening performance from the band Resonance. After the ceremony, participants may choose to start their hike from Xiaoyoukeng, Lengshuikeng, or Miaopu Trailhead, ascending Qixing Mountain at their own pace according to personal fitness and schedule.The park authorities stated that souvenir redemption points will be set up at the Visitor Center, Xiaoyoukeng, and Lengshuikeng service stations, with 300 items available at each location. After completing the hike and taking a summit photo, participants may redeem a New Year souvenir. This year's souvenir design is inspired by the Year of the Horse, featuring native species of Yangmingshan, symbolizing vitality, awareness, and the cycle of nature.
