For the "Mobile Phone Recycling Month" event, the Ministry of Environment's Resource Circulation Administration and the Environmental Protection Department of the New Taipei City Government collaborate. The public will have the opportunity to win laptops and grand prizes like PS5s and iPhone 15 throughout the event, which is open through October 31. The public is urged by the Environmental Protection Bureau to discard cell phones properly. In November, the list of winners will be made public.

According to the New Taipei City Government's Environmental Protection Department, disposing of or disassembling abandoned cell phones carelessly might result in significant environmental contamination and resource waste. Last year, cleaning crews from several New Taipei City districts recycled over 100,000 cell phones, totaling 33,800 kg. The gold, silver, copper, and other metals that are recovered from these abandoned cell phones may be recycled and used as raw materials to create new electronic devices.
The New Taipei City Government's Environmental Protection Department went on to say that each recycled cell phone may be redeemed for a lottery ticket by bringing them to certain places. The lottery qualifiers are available once you check in to the event website. For any questions, please visit the event lottery website or visit the Resource Circulation Administration, Ministry of Environment official website.
