As of June 17, 11 cases have been reported in Rende District, Tainan, in response to regional clusters of dengue fever. As a shared living region, Kaohsiung City has carried out a thorough cleansing of the dengue fever prevention and control environment and requests the public's active cooperation in order to stop the virus' spread. In Kaohsiung City, there are more than 500 dengue fever contract clinics that offer NS1 quick screening reagents in an effort to improve the home environment. People who exhibit symptoms should seek for medical treatment and quick screening as soon as feasible.

In order to prevent breeding grounds, the deputy director (潘炤穎) of the Department of Health, Kaohsiung City Government appeals to the general public to clean any areas indoors and outside where there is a chance of water accumulation within 48 hours after the rain. Additionally, travelers to Southeast Asian nations around the Dragon Boat Festival holiday should take precautions against mosquitoes.

The Kaohsiung City Government also cautions the general public to always be mindful of their physical well-being if they have recently went to Tainan's Rende District for events. Please see the contract clinic as soon as you can if you experience symptoms such as fever, headache, joint and muscular discomfort, or skin rash. Seek medical treatment and make the effort to tell the doctor about your history of activities in order to help the doctor make a diagnosis and stop the epidemic from spreading.
