In order to strengthen the resilience of disaster prevention in the APEC region and ensure economic growth and sustainable development, Wu Tsung-tsong (吳政忠) emphasized that APEC must work together to develop new thinking and a "New normal" coexistence under the threat of natural disasters and climate change. Using Taiwan as an example, the government employs policies to direct public-private collaboration in disaster prevention, so encouraging the engagement of the entire population in disaster prevention. This increases the resilience of the society against catastrophes.

Wu Tsung-tsong (吳政忠) said that Taiwan's science parks are one of the crucial supply chains for the world's semiconductor sector. The government has been actively encouraging the work of reducing the impact of disasters in science parks and has pledged that Taiwan will increase its contribution to APEC disaster prevention capacity building in order to ensure the disaster prevention resilience and preparedness of high-tech industries.
