Yunlin County Government held "Multiculture Carnival and Care Consultation Achievenmnets Presentation to show new residents' energy at Douliu Renwen Sports Park. Apart from the activity of Vietnam Lantern Festival, Indonesian Karawang dance, multicultural heritages exhibition, there were also the DIY experience and tasting of ethnic food, community special performances, a lottery game, free cut services, a parent-child coloring game...etc. to show new residents' enthusiasm and characteristics. The event attracted many people to participate and created a warm and lively atmosphere.
The event also cooperated with Yunlin County Brigade, County Department of Social Affairs, Department of Civil Affairs, Department of Education, Department of Labor Affairs to set up a stand to assist new residents in understanding current policy measures to protect their rights and welfare.
Chiefs of bureaus and offices and Yunlin County Mayor Zhang Lishan also came to the event to have fun with the public and experienced the water lantern festival and Indonesian dance. County Mayor indicated that holding this multiculture carnival is to offer the opportunity for new residents from various countries to gather together and share their life experiences. It also broadened their understanding of Yunlin and Taiwan. New residents who have come to Taiwan are our family and a significant part of Taiwan. Yunlin County would take care of new residents as it takes care of Taiwanese people to make people live happier. The event today not only presented the ethnic characteristics and food but let new residents show their talents. It was hoped that the event would let the public understand new residents and respect each other, and the County also appreciated the contributions of new residents.
