CECC confirms 67 more COVID-19 cases, including 14 domestic cases and 53 imported cases

According to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), there are 67 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those 67 cases, 14 are domestic and 53 are imported. The CECC announced 1 death today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 7 men and 7 women, aged between under 5 years old and around 50 years old.

Regarding the 53 new imported cases, they are 27 men and 26 women, aged between under 5 and around 70 years old. 8 of them are from the United States, 6 from the United Kingdom, 3 from Indonesia and Japan each, 2 from Italy, France, and India each, and 1 from China, Bangladesh, Ireland, Canada, Malawi, Germany, Mauritius, Spain, Vietnam, Netherlands, and Cambodia each. The remaining 14 cases arrived are being investigated. They arrived between January 6, 2022, to February 15, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,052,334 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,032,319. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 19,732 cases. Of the 19,732 confirmed cases, 4,336 are imported; 15,342 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection.

The command center once again appeals to the public that one should keep hands clean, wear a mask, reduce unnecessary travel, activities, or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to follow various regulations and stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community
