French Roller Girls and Egyptian Instruments Take the Stage! Pingtung Market Brings an Exotic Cultural Trend.

On September 8th, the Pingtung County Government held the New Resident Creative Market at Shengli Star Village for the first time, incorporating the theme of “Exotic Music Feast,” which attracted a large number of participants. The opening performances featured a Middle Eastern folk dance group, the French MCM Roller Girls, and the Xin Yue Art Troupe, bringing the audience to applause with their exciting music and dance from different cultures. The event focused on promoting various cultural experiences and showcasing the diversity and inclusiveness of Pingtung County. 

According to the county government, the market gathered the creativity and talents of new residents from various countries. In addition to performances, the event also featured an interactive experience area where visitors could try traditional Egyptian instruments, such as the "finger cymbals," "Middle Eastern drums," and "tambourines." A total of 30 brands participated in this market, offering creative products and specialty foods from different countries, allowing visitors to enjoy cultural performances while tasting various cultural delicacies. The Pingtung County Government emphasized that the New Resident Creative Market not only serves as a platform for showcasing handmade crafts and talents of new residents but also promotes cultural exchange between residents and new residents, reflecting the concept of “Newcomers and Locals Are One Big Family” and creating a friendly and inclusive cultural atmosphere.New residents introduce their own products. The event attracted over 600 participants. The county government stated that the market will continue to be held, with the next sessions scheduled for October 12th, 13th, and November 10th. It is expected to bring even more exciting content and provide new resident second-generation families with more opportunities to showcase their talents, hoping that Pingtung can become an important bridge linking Taiwan to the international community.
