Next, they went to the Changhua Mazu Cultural Center with the Changhua County New Residents Development Association to experience handmade jelly the Vietnamese new resident Wen Tsai-yan (文彩燕).

The mainland new resident Wang Li got married and stayed in Taiwan for twenty years. Wang was major in arts in college, but gave up her talents by an accident and only help raise chicken business for living. Then, she started to conduct students’ art creation in elementary school by the occasional chance. Due to the NIA’s Dream Project, she collected the paintings of second new residents’ students to charity in the exhibition. She also gave the revenue back in the field of art education. Wang showed her paintings to the NIA officials and shared her experience as new resident in chasing dreams in Taiwan. She expressed her gratitude to the help of NIA and expected her paintings and arts inspired the students.

The Vietnamese new resident Wen Tsai-yen also contains the positive and persistent spirit as Wang. Wen took a long to be accustomed to the life in Taiwan as she first came. She felt empathy with the feeling of new residents and the situation of migrant workers. In addition, she is good at making desserts with the natural ingredients. She handmade jelly and eagerly taught in community. Moreover, she hopes to build up her own workshop by the help of NIA’s Dream Project in the future and assist more new residents to learn new talents.

On 16th, Wen taught Chief Secretary Lin to make jelly in the shape of flowers with dragon fruits. The atmosphere of whole events is warm and the handmade desserts are amazing. Lin stated that the new residents and their second generation are talented which is also the important strength in development. NIA will continuously integrate sources and platforms to create a friendly and diverse society for the new immigrants to build up their dreams in Taiwan.
