Fangzheng Valley Military Dependents' Village Cuisine Restaurant at the Beitun Military Dependents' Village Museum in Taichung has successfully transformed the nostalgic memories of military dependents' villages into refined Taiwanese cuisine. This has attracted numerous domestic and international visitors, making it a renowned cultural attraction in Taichung. Taipei City Government Secretary-General Li Taixing led a delegation of officials to visit and observe, accompanied by Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau Deputy Director Zeng Nengting. Secretary-General Li praised the cooperation between the Taichung City Government and the private sector, considering it a model worth emulating.

According to the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the retro and spacious dining space of "Fangzheng Valley Military Dependents' Village Cuisine Restaurant" resembles the early Air Force Clubs. Last year, the restaurant was honored with the "2023 Contemporary Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant" award by the Ministry of Economic Affairs for its signature dishes, including "Cane-Scented Shaoxing Chief Dongpo Pork," "Pomfret Fish and Rice Noodle Hot Pot," "Golden Lily Stir-Fried Rice Noodles," and "Plum Wine Drunken White Shrimp." Operated by Liangguo Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd., the restaurant collaborates with the Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau to recreate the military dependents' village lifestyle experience through its cuisine and various themed spaces, such as the "Story Museum," "Gentlemen's Barbershop," "Xiaomeihua Old Goods Store," "Beitun New Village Grocery Store," and "Fei Ice Cream Parlor."Fangzheng Valley's Signature Dish: Cane-Scented Shaoxing Chief Dongpo Pork. The Story Museum is currently showcasing the "Let's Feast Together - Banquet Culture Special Exhibition," which incorporates traditional banquet elements from earlier times. The exhibition features four main themes: "Life's Grand Banquets," "Fish Leaps Over the Dragon Gate Master Chef," "A Feast of Wealth and Longevity," and "Takeaway Packaging." Visitors can immerse themselves in the lively banquet atmosphere and learn about the evolution of banquet cuisine and the integration of diverse culinary cultures. The exhibition runs until November 25, and everyone is welcome to experience Taiwan's warm, hospitable, and grand banquet culture.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that although the Beitun New Village Park is small, it is well-equipped, offering not only delicious food, snacks, and old items for purchase but also an authentic experience of 1950s military dependents' village life. Since Liangguo Cultural and Creative took over the operation in 2017, the park's performance has consistently been rated "Excellent," making it a prime example for other counties and cities to observe. The Taipei City Government specifically visited the museum, hosted by Deputy Director Zeng Nengting, to exchange experiences in planning and managing public-private partnerships. Secretary-General Li commended the operational team's successful integration of military dependents' village culture with leisure and tourism, achieving both educational and commercial success. He expressed high regard for the joint efforts of the Taichung City Government and the private sector.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau added that with the injection of private sector vitality, Beitun New Village has become a new cultural and tourism highlight in Taichung City. Residents who love military dependents' village culture and Taiwanese cuisine should not miss this opportunity!
