Childcare subsidies will increase starting in 2024, according to the Executive Yuan. The monthly cost of public childcare will rise from NT$5,500 to NT$7,000, while the cost of quasi-public kindergarten childcare would rise from NT$8,500 to NT$13,000.

Nowadays, the majority of households have two earners, thus parents often leave their kids in daycare facilities. The Executive Yuan stated that starting in 2024, childcare subsidies will be enhanced in order to lessen the burden on parents. In order to encourage children to grow up well, the amount will also be increased for low- and middle-income households, disadvantaged families, or families with two or more children.

Some parents expressed their expectation that the subsidy may enhance the childcare environment and the employment of women in the workforce while stating that it will be of significant assistance. They believe that in the future, an improved childcare system will also aid in resolving Taiwan's low birthrate issue.
