[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The Ministry of Labor has established a one-stop service center for migrant workers in Taoyuan and Kaohsiung beginning January 1st of this year to streamline the administrative processes for migrant workers to come to Taiwan and assist newly hired domestic migrant workers adapt to Taiwan. Provide migrant workers, agencies, and employers more complete services.

The employer should first apply for the immigration training and the five application items online for domestic migrant employees who are newly hired or who haven't taken the training in more than 5 years, 5 days before the family migrant workers depart for Taiwan. Family migrant workers are required to enroll in an 8-hour lecture course after landing in Taiwan. They can apply for work permits, residence permits, occupational accident insurance, national health insurance, and entry notification the day after the training. Every year, 50,000 pairs of domestic migrant workers and their employers are expected to profit from the Ministry of Labor's One-Stop service for migrant employees.

The Ministry of Labor's One-Stop Service; when migrant workers arrive at the airport, a customized car will pick them up and take them to the one-stop facility for a three-day course. The course offers lectures in a variety of languages, including English, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, and Tagalog, explaining laws and regulations as well as their own labor rights, as well as rights and interests that will be harmed by unknown whereabouts, and other matters to be complied with. It also offers life adaptation courses that explain Taiwanese culture.

According to a press release from the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Labor continues to strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of employers, agencies, and migrant workers in order to meet the employment needs of families for domestic migrant workers and prevent labor disputes or social issues brought on by migrant workers arriving in Taiwan. The opening of the Ministry of Labor's One-Stop Service Center will make it easier for migrant workers to live and work in Taiwan with confidence. By building a better system and set of standards, Taiwan will be able to recruit more exceptional migrant workers and fulfil the need for long-term care services.
