Yunlin Police Station propaganda anti-fraud and strengthens anti-fraud knowledge of migrant workers

The Dounan Branch of the Yunlin County Police Station organized anti-fraud advocacy teams to Dapi Township and the Nextland (良作工場農業文創館) of in an effort to prevent crimes by organizing anti-fraud, anti-drug, women and child, traffic safety, and other crime prevention activities. The advocacy aims to increase legal literacy among the general public and new residents, help migrant workers comprehend the essential legal information for living in Taiwan, increase their awareness of their rights, and help them guard against fraud.

The police created a brochure in Chinese and Vietnamese during the activities so that the participating migrant workers could comprehend the current fraud techniques in detail. Everyone is encouraged to contact the police if they suspect fraud. One can hang up the phone first in an emergency, ask the authorities for assistance immediately, stay alert, and carefully gather evidence.

Regarding the electric bicycles used by migrant workers for transportation, the police also urge not to modify the vehicle, wear a helmet when riding a bicycle, do not drive drunk, and speed through red lights. They also provided various concept guidance on safe driving, accompanied by playing videos of traffic accidents, to enhance the awareness and expect to reduce traffic accidents among migrant workers.

Fraudulent techniques keep on emerging. Call the 165 anti-fraud consultation hotline or 110 right away to file a report if you hear terms like cash withdrawal at the counter, ATM operation, or online or telephone game point purchases. Migrant workers can also contact the "1955 Migrant Workers 24-hour Consultation and Protection Hotline" for assistance if they run into issues. This hotline makes an appeal to migrant workers to avoid falling victim to fraud by using illegal underground remittances because of their favorable exchange rates or low handling costs.
