As the voting of the presidential and legislators’ elections approaching next year, in order to protect the rights and justice of people, the NIA Second Service Station in Tainan cooperated with the new resident public welfare group Vietnam Five Stars to organize an anti-bribery group. They appeal to the statement of “Clean politics, starting from you and me. You choose bribery, I don’t choose you.”

The leader of Vietnam Five Stars Pan Yu-shan(潘羽姍) stated that Taiwan is our home and the election is the rights given by the nation. It is our duty to choose the suitable candidate. It needs to take criminal responsibility for accepting bribery. The future of country is in danger if a candidate uses improper methods to win the election. No one should break the law for small profits.

In addition to buying votes with money, providing meals and travel trip with inequivalent value or donation of activity funding are one of the ways to provide benefits to voters for the election. Since the new residents are not familiar with the election culture in Taiwan, there are the conditions of new residents misunderstood or cheated to break the election law. Thus, in order to solve this situation, NIA promotes anti-bribery in schools, official units, community development associations, foreign restaurants and temples, hoping to protect values of democracy.

NIA Chief of Office Station Chen Nan-han(陳南翰) specially reminded there steps for anti-bribery as following, preserving the evidence of bribing, calling the report number and gaining high reward for reporting bribery. According to the regulation, the reward of successfully report for bribery up to NT 15 million, and into the stage of lawsuit can receive 1/4 of reward. The given reward will not be retrieved. Everyone has responsibility to fight against bribery in election. If people find any suspicious action of bribery, please call the report number 06-5817404, the identity of the prosecutor will be confidential, feel free to report illegal behavior to NIA.
