Sending phishing links through the Internet has grown to be one of the most popular fraudulent practices used in the modern day. Personal data could leak if one is not careful. Even the widely used Gmail has recently come under attack from scam artists. A letter titled "Google Online Rewards Program" was sent to several users. One will be cheated of personal information and could even have major consequences, like exposing bank account passwords by clicking on the link supplied in the mail.

The British newspaper Daily Mirror stated that many Google users claimed to have received letters labeled "Google Online Rewards Program" and believed they were receiving official correspondence from Google.
"You are the lucky user!" reads the email. The email goes on to say that the users can get paid for their good fortune. Google advises against clicking the links the scammers included in the email.

Google officials have immediately released a statement to assure users that Google will not send similar letters and offer rewards. If one receives a suspicious letter, do not rush to open it, and do not enter personal information easily. Check the source carefully to avoid being defrauded.
